Longtime Brookfield Resident and Officer Promoted to Captainship
The new Captain was promoted from the rank of Sergeant, and is a 1996 graduate of Brookfield High School
BROOKFIELD, CT — A longtime Brookfield resident and police officer has been promoted to the department's command staff.
The department announced Wednesday that Captain Pete Frengs has been promoted to the department's brass after serving as a sergeant since 2009. The promotion of Frengs, as well as Chief Jay Purcell and Major John Puglisi were done to fill the retirement of Chief Robin Montgomery.
Frengs was promoted at Town Hall Wednesday in front of his peers and firefighters from the surrounding area. The department also announced it anticipates a selection process to fill Frengs' old role, as we as a selection process for a new officer.

Frengs granduated from Brookfield High School in 1996, and has served the department since 2001.
