The state was asking Brookfield to pay back $7 million unless the missing receipts from subcontractors.

Brookfield has found a majority of the documents from subcontractors for the high school renovation of 2008, the News Times reports.
Auditors had demanded that the town pay back $7 million in state grants awarded for the $28 million renovation unless the town could find the missing receipts and bids.
According to the News Times, a majority of the missing documentation was in the files of former superintendent of schools John Getz. The town had a deadline of Friday to provide the missing receipts.
