Man Charged in Bridgewater Home Invasion After Victim Shot: PD

He was also charged with stealing multiple vehicles.

BRIDGEWATER, CT — Police arrested a Millerton, New York man for home invasion after a Bridgewater man was shot, according to police.

Dustin Holst-Grubbe, 20, was charged with home invasion, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, assault of an elderly person, stealing a firearm and other criminal charges Friday for the August 2016 home invasion, police said.

Holst-Grubbe was extradited from Orange County Jail. The arrest warrant is sealed.

During the home invasion a male victim was shot at his South Main Street residence, State Police said. His injuries were non-life threatening.

The suspect fled the scene. Police located a vehicle reported stolen out of New York State on South Main Street. A shotgun was found in the immediate area as well.

A neighbor also said his vehicle was stolen from his driveway. The vehicle was found in Waterbury.

It was confirmed that both vehicles were related to the home invasion, State Police said.

Holst-Grubbe was developed as a suspect in the case and investigators believe he was involved in multiple crimes in the area, according to State Police.

Holst-Grubbe turned himself in to New York State Police Barracks in Millerton, New York on burglary charges August 7 and he was held in New York for charges related to investigations in that state. A warrant was drafted and he was formally charged Friday. A $1 million bond was set.
