
Mary A. Linabury, 79, who had lived in Brookfield since 1969, died May 4 at Danbury Hospital.
Mary was the wife of George O. Linabury, of High Ridge Road, Brookfield. Mary was born on March 21, 1932, in Larchmont, N.Y., a daughter to the late Edward P. and Mary Agnes Smith. She graduated from The Katherine Gibbs School in New York City after completing the two-year Liberal Arts/Secretarial Program. After she married, she lived in Teaneck, N.J., and worked in New York City as an Executive Secretary before moving to Saudi Arabia with her husband. They lived there for seven years while her husband worked for a large American oil company. During that time, she traveled extensively in the Middle East and Europe.
Mary moved to Brookfield in 1969. She was a member of the New Comers Club, The Faculty Wives at Western Connecticut State University and St. Joseph’s Church in Brookfield. In Danbury she worked for several years as a secretary and office manager, lastly employed by Preferred Properties and retired in 1995.

Along with her husband, Mary is survived by her son, Mark, and his wife Laura Linabury of West Hartford and two grandchildren, Hayley and Samuel Linabury, also of West Hartford, and several cousins.
Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial with a soloist will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Brookfield.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 9, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield.
