At a ceremony held at the Brookfield Town Hall on Wednesday August 28, Joseph Beal, Commander of the Brookfield VFW Post along with members of the Siemens Veterans Network Brookfield Chapter and Town First Selectman Steve Dunn commemorated the placement of Military Branch Service stones in front of the Town Hall. The stones for years stood in front of the entrance to the Seimans Healthcare Diagnostics Building on Silvermine Road. The company has closed its Brookfield Facility and the stones which contained representations of the insignias of the 5 military service branches were donated to the town and VFW by the Siemans Veterans Network Brookfield Chapter as a symbol to represent them long after they are gone. They were recently placed near the Town Hall flag pole, by Design & Signs of Brookfield. The Brookfield Siemens VeteransNetwork in coordination with the Town's Veterans of Foreign War Post 10201 and the Town arranged for the placement at their new location.
