Morning Glory Hits Double Digits!

Catholic Charities' Morning Glory Breakfast Program Celebrates 10 years of service to the hungry and homeless of Northern Fairfield County.

To celebrate Morning Glory’s 10 years of service feeding the hungry and homeless of the Danbury area, Catholic Charities of Fairfield County will be hosting a festive “Spring Fling” party on April 28, 2017 at 6:30pm at Saint Edward the Confessor parish hall, 21 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield.

With the assistance of volunteers and community partners, Morning Glory launched in 2007 and in the last decade has served over 300,000 meals to the needy and vulnerable members of our community. Opening every morning at 6:30am, Morning Glory is the only place where those experiencing homelessness can find a safe haven from the elements, get access to services, and enjoy a hot and healthy meal.

In 2015 Catholic Charities expanded the program by starting the Morning Glory Marketplace, a unique pantry that provides cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and paper goods to low income and needy families in the area. Open two days a month, the Marketplace serves 150 families each month, and in the two years of operation has provided necessary household items to over 500 families!

With this first annual “Spring Fling,” Catholic Charities will be celebrating the positive impact that Morning Glory -- as well as the six other programs Catholic Charities operates in the area -- have had on the greater Danbury community. We hope you’ll join us for this celebration complete with food, drinks, silent auctions, and live music provided by the band Mental Health.
