Motorcyclist Taken To Hospital After Crash In Brookfield: Volunteer Fire Company

A "motor vehicle versus motorcycle accident" was reported over the weekend, according to the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital after a crash in Brookfield over the weekend, according to the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company.

In a Facebook post, officials said Brookfield fire and EMS crews were called to the 800 block of Federal Road Saturday morning after receiving a report of a "motor vehicle versus motorcycle accident."

Crews assessed and treated the motorcyclist, who was then taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation, fire officials said.

The road was temporarily closed while emergency personnel operated and the vehicles were removed from the area, according to fire officials.

"This incident serves as an important reminder: when you encounter fire, EMS or police vehicles operating in or blocking a roadway, slow down and obey all road closures," the company's post reads. "Never attempt to drive around emergency vehicles or barricades. These closures are in place to protect the victims involved, as well as the first responders working on the scene. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we work to keep everyone safe."
