"Sweeney Todd" on stage in July at Brookfield Theatre

For the closest shave of your life, welcome to the barbershop of Sweeney Todd. Downstairs, the pie shop of Mrs. Lovett relishes the opportunity to serve you too -- but in a very different way.
So begins Stephen Sondheim’s gloriously ghoulish “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” opening at the Brookfield Theatre for the Arts on Friday, July 6th at 8 pm. Winner of eight Tony awards when it was first produced on Broadway, it went on to worldwide acclaim, as well as an unforgettable film featuring Johnny Depp.
Starring in the Brookfield Theatre production are Marilyn Olsen as Mrs. Lovett, Edmound Fitzpatrick as Sweeney Todd, Samantha LaMendola as Johanna, Stephen Moores as Anthony Hope, Dominick Ventrella as Tobias Ragg, Ted Schwartz as Judge Turpin, Marty Posner as Beadle Bamford, Denise Milmerstadt as the Beggar Woman, Rob Pawlikowski as Adolpho Pirelli, and Roger Grace as Mr. Fogg. The ensemble includes Kylie Block, Brigid Callahan, Pam DeuHuff, Melanie Fay, Lisa Goldberg, Andre Luis Grigorio, Phair Haldin, Matthew MacGregor, Ali Michelek, Tatem Pearlman, Leland Schick, and Rigby Wilkens. The production is directed by Craig David Rosen with musical direction by Sarah Fay.

"Sweeney Todd: The Musical Thriller" opens on Friday, July 6th with performances continuing through July 28th on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. There will also be a free preview for senior citizens on Thursday, July 5th at 8 pm.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $22.50 for seniors, and $20 for students available at the door or online at www.BrookfieldTheatre.org.
