It is with genuine enthusiasm and a profound sense of honor that I introduce myself as your incoming Superintendent of Schools.

With nearly three decades of dedicated service in Connecticut public education, I bring a deep commitment to learner-centered approaches that inspire critical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, global citizenship, and lifelong growth—values that mirror Brookfield Public Schools' mission to empower every student to live meaningful and productive lives through rigorous, relevant learning experiences and active community involvement.

My journey began as a classroom teacher in West Hartford, where I was honored as the district's First-Year Teacher of the Year. It has since included roles as an elementary principal, Director of Human Capital Development, and Assistant Superintendent in Newington Public Schools.

Throughout, I have focused on instructional leadership, equitable opportunities, adaptive change, collaborative decision-making, and building strong partnerships among students, families, educators, staff, and the broader community.

I am especially proud of my work advancing equity and inclusion, recognized by the 2021 CABE Award of Excellence, and my recent selection as the 2025 Personnel Administrator of the Year by the Connecticut Association of School Personnel Administrators.

I am deeply grateful to the Board of Education for their trust and to the many members of the Brookfield community—students, families, educators, staff, and residents—who shared their insights through focus groups, surveys, and conversations during the search process.

Your voices truly shaped this decision, and I look forward to continuing that spirit of open dialogue and collaboration.

In the weeks ahead, I am eager to visit our schools, meet our students, staff, families, and neighbors, and listen carefully to your perspectives as we build on Brookfield's many strengths—its excellent academic programs, supportive culture, and active community engagement.

I am committed to working together to ensure every student thrives and our district remains a beacon of innovation and community pride.

Thank you for the warm welcome I have already received. I am honored to serve as your Superintendent and excited for this new chapter ahead.

Warm regards,

Stephen Foresi
