New and Improved Brookfield Town Park Will Reopen July 4

After postponing the delayed June 20 opening due to improvements, Parks and Rec announced they will reopen on Saturday, July 4.

After postponing the opening twice due to renovations, Brookfield Parks and Rec has announced the Town Park Beach on Candlewood Lake will reopen on Saturday, July 4.

Access will be limited to the new lakeside building, boat ramp, and to the beach area. The new beach area and retaining walls have been covered over three times with new sand. The rest of the landscaped picnic and play areas are “a work-in-progress,” according to First Selectman’s Brookfield Matters newsletter. Parks and Rec anticipates they will be ready near the end of July.

Temporary restrooms will be available but there will be no changing rooms or outdoor shower. Food and drinks will be temporarily permitted to be brought in as the concessions stand is not yet completed.
