Obituary: Christine H. Burr, 59, Lifelong Brookfield Resident
Christine graduated from Brookfield High School and then was employed for over 40 years as an accounts receivable specialist.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Christine H. Burr a lifelong resident of Brookfield, passed on Dec. 11, 2022, after a four-year battle with Ovarian Carcinosarcoma (MMMT). She was 59 years old.
Born in New Milford, to Phillip and Martha (Merwin) Burr, she grew up in Brookfield on the Burr Farm dairy. Chris was a lifelong 4-H'er, raising cattle and sheep in her youth. To the very end, she believed strongly and lived her life by the 4-H motto "To Make the Best Better."

She graduated from Brookfield High School and then was employed for over 40 years as an accounts receivable specialist, most recently with Oak Ridge Waste & Recycling in Danbury. She traveled throughout the U.S., also visiting Europe and Africa. She was a talented quilter and made many incredible quilts over the years.
Christine loved being by the water and enjoyed road trips and breakfast out on the weekends. She favored old westerns, cooking shows, game shows and BBC on TV, with a cat warming her lap. She liked watching the birds and cursed the bears rumored to wander the neighborhood who prevented the bird feeders from being filled.

Christine is survived by her sisters Bonnie Burr and Becky Burr-Petro and her husband Jeremy Petro, all of Brookfield. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Christine was predeceased by her parents.
Her family would like to thank her oncology team at Memorial Sloan Kettering for their amazing care during her battle, Regional Hospice in Danbury for their compassion and support in her final days and her co-workers at Oak Ridge for their friendship and kindness.
A memorial service will be held in the spring.
