Obituary: Edith (Rossi) Tomaino, 93, of Brookfield

Mrs. Tomaino was a retired department manager with the former Caldor's of Brookfield.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Edith (Rossi) Tomaino, 93, of Brookfield, wife of the late Camillo Tomaino, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Tomaino was born in Jessup, PA on June 18, 1925, a daughter of the late Anselmo and Eva (Ruggeri) Rossi. She moved to Danbury in 1945 coming from Jessup. She was a retired department manager with the former Caldor's of Brookfield.

A member of the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge #160 of Danbury, Mrs. Tomaino enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. She most especially enjoyed the time shared with her family.

Mrs. Tomaino is survived by a daughter, Karen Tomaino-Iannucci; three grandchildren, Michael Iannucci and his wife Lisa, Nick Iannucci and Bianca Stringer and her husband Matthew; three great-grandchildren, twin great-granddaughters Tessa and Alexandra Iannucci and Christopher Stringer as well as many nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Tomaino is predeceased by her four brothers, Arnold, Henry, Nazzareno and Sydney and her four sisters, Elsie Banfi, Helen Scattolini, Mary Scattolini and Nazzarene Strobino.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Relatives and friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funreal Home on Saturday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Amerigo Vespucci Scholarship Fund, 10 Christopher Columbus Blvd., Danbury, CT 06810 would be appreciated.
