BROOKFIELD, CT — Mrs. Eileen G. (Casey) Ford, a beloved resident of Brookfield, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the age of 78. She was the devoted wife of Martin J. Ford. Eileen, born on December 11, 1944, in New Rochelle, NY, was the daughter of the late Edward and Ann (Harold) Casey.

Eileen was retired after working for many years as a teacher in New York and Connecticut. Her passion for teaching and commitment to education touched the lives of many.

She was a devout communicant of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Brookfield. Her faith was an integral part of her life.

A world traveler at heart, Eileen embarked on numerous adventures, exploring different cultures and embracing new experiences. Her wanderlust led her to countless destinations, allowing her to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the world.

In her leisure time, Eileen was an avid reader and indulged in creative pursuits, particularly needlework and cheering on the New York Mets. She possessed a remarkable talent for these crafts and poured her heart into each piece she created. Her handiwork stands as a testament to her artistry and love for all things handmade. Her home was a testament to her creativity and adventures, adorned with unique knickknacks and treasures acquired during her journeys. Eileen's generosity knew no bounds, and if she noticed someone admiring one of her special items, she would insist that they take it home as a memento.

Above all, Eileen cherished the time spent with her eight grandchildren. Their presence brought immense joy to her life, and she treasured the moments they shared together. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in their accomplishments and milestones.
Eileen leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. She touched the lives of many through her dedication to education, her unwavering faith, and her vibrant spirit. Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband Martin, her children, Elizabeth, (Eric), Edward, Robert, (Lisa) and Katherine, (Rufino), as well as her beloved grandchildren: Rose, Jocelyn, Bryan, Nathan, Brady, Daniel, Julia and Gabriel. Eileen is also survived by her two sisters Joann O'Connel (Stephen) and Patricia Prunty (Peter). She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 13 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Brookfield. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury. There will be no calling hours.

Her family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
