Obituary: John F. Collins, Jr., 91, Of Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, CT — Mr. John F. Collins, Jr., age 91, of Brookfield passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 in Brookfield. He was the husband of the late Carol (Berryman) Collins.

Mr. Collins was born October 23, 1931 in Bronx, New York son of the late John F. Collins, Sr. and the late Laura (Larkin) Collins. He was retired after working for many years as an automobile salesman and also worked at Orkin and Photronics in his retirement. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hunting and was an avid scuba diver. John and his wife traveled to the Caribbean throughout their life, where John scuba dived and Carol enjoyed shopping and visiting local restaurants.

John proudly served as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War and Carol worked at Union Carbide until her retirement.

Mr. Collins is survived by his sons: Paul Thomas Collins of Brookfield and John F. Collins, III of Brookfield, his 4 grandchildren: Paul Collins, Jake Stanley, Sylvie Collins and Thayer Collins and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister: Jean Corda.

Mr. Collins family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation for both John and Carol at the Brookfield Funeral Home 786 Federal Road Brookfield on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m.
