Obituary: Joseph J. Visconti, 87, Of Brookfield

In 1954, Joe began his lifelong career as a mason, and eventually owned and operated V & V Woodstove.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Joseph J. Visconti, 87, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Norma (Trott) Visconti, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, May 4, 2023 following a brief illness. He was born in Bridgeport on July 17, 1935, son of the late Valverde and Amelia (Pirrozzoli) Visconti.

Joseph was a Veteran of the US Navy Reserves, serving during the Vietnam War.

In 1954, Joe began his lifelong career as a mason, and eventually owned and operated V & V Woodstove with his best friend, Sebastian “Paul” Vecchione. In the second phase of his working life, he enjoyed owning and operating V & V Liquor Store in Brookfield.

After retirement, Joe enjoyed making custom birdhouses and puzzles.

In addition to his cherished wife, Norma, he will be sadly missed by his eight children, Joseph, Jr., Cori Traverse (Scott), Kimberly Hall, Valerie Visconti, David Visconti (Nicole), Dean Visconti (Lorraine), Marc Bennett, and Shawn Visconti (Naomi); his four stepchildren, John, Richie, Chris and Kim; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; two nieces; and a nephew.

He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Marinko.

A funeral service will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Saturday, May 13 at 11:00 a.m.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
