After graduating she began working as a Medical Lab Technician in both St. Louis, Missouri and Indianapolis, Indiana. While working in Indianapolis Kathryn met her one true love, Peter Kelley, to whom she was married for 44 years.

Kathy left the Hoosier state but never forgot her Hoosier roots and with Peter moved to Brookfield in 1977 where they raised their three sons, John, Brian and Michael. Kathy worked as an office manager and for a regional bank while in Brookfield, but most enjoyed the time she spent volunteering on Saturdays at Aunt Nellies Attic in Danbury, which benefited Family and Children’s Aid.

In 1996, she and Peter moved to Florida where she spent the next 21 wonderful years before returning to Connecticut in 2017. Kathy had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, loved her daily crossword, playing Scrabble, cribbage and made numerous lifelong friends everywhere she lived. Above all, she loved her family unconditionally, always there to offer support and encouragement.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her husband, Peter; her sisters, Shirley Clark and Betty Smith; and her niece and nephew, Jeanine and Ed Smith.

Kathy is survived by her sons: John, Brian (Shay), Michael; three grandchildren, brother-in-law, Marvin Smith and niece, Joni (Vic) Wheeler.
