Obituary: Margot Cirigliano, 87, Of Brookfield: Entrepreneur

Swedish immigrant Margot was an entrepreneur here in the US, owning and operating the Snack Shop at the Brookfield bowling alley.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Margot Cirigliano, 87, of Brookfield, beloved wife of Gennaro “Jerry” Cirigliano, died peacefully at her home on Monday October 31st. She was born in Huskavarna, Sweden on December 22, 1934, daughter of the late Oscar and Stena Sandberg.

Margot’s happiest moments were spent baking during the holidays was baking, especially the Swedish tradition of 7 sorts of cookies. She also enjoyed cross stitching, sudoku, crossword puzzles, and traveling to Florida in the winters and to Sweden and throughout Europe in the summers.

In her younger years she was proud to be employed by the Swedish government. She was an entrepreneur here in the US, owning and operating the Snack Shop at the Brookfield bowling alley. She also owned a television repair shop while raising two children.

Margot was devoted to her family, and lovingly raised her grandson, David.

In addition to her devoted husband of 41 years, Jerry, she will be sadly missed by her son, Thomas Josefson and his wife, Barbara; her stepsons, Anthony and Michael Cirigliano; her four grandsons, David Josefson and his wife, Danielle, Alex Josefson and his wife, Sarah, Christopher Josefson and his wife, Keena, Michael Josefson and his wife, Erin, and Michael Joe Cirigliano; and three great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lucas and Jacob.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Lars Josefson; her daughter, Carina Josefson; and her stepson, Thomas Cirigliano.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 10 at 3:00pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Brookfield.
