BROOKFIELD, CT — Maureen (Rodgers) Lane passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 13 surrounded by her loving family. She grew up in Newfoundland, Canada and lived in Montreal before marrying and living her adult life in Brookfield.

Maureen graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School as a licensed practical nurse and practiced for many years in different specialties.

She particularly enjoyed bowling, cribbage, golf, gardening, good friends, Pepsi, and sitting with "my tea." More recently, she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Maureen was a wonderful cook and loved to make events special with a unique twist or decoration. She was a spitfire with a playful and mischievous streak.

Maureen’s enduring love goes to her family, dear lifelong friends, and friends from bridge, golf, and happy hour.

She is predeceased by parents, John and Mary Rodgers, and brother, Thomas Rodgers. She is survived by sister, Sheila Touchek; her husband of 61 years, Richard Lane; two children Lisa (John) and Rick (Katie); and four grandchildren, Lucas (Sarah), Jacob, Allison, and Brendan. The family wishes to thank the RVNA Hospice Nurses and her Honey Bee home health aide, Joan, for their compassionate care of Maureen.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Maureen’s honor to RVNAHealth, 27 Governor St. Ridgefield CT 06877 for their Hospice program or a charity of one’s choice.
