Obituary: Patricia Roehling, 82, of Brookfield

Patricia loved her home, tending to her gardens, and caring for her beloved pets, Rufus and Inky.

BROOKFIELD, CT -- Patricia Roehling, 82, of Brookfield, died peacefully at Regional Hospice and Palliative Care in Danbury on Thursday, May 17, 2018.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 2, 1935, daughter of the late William and Ruth (Gangloff) Roehling. She worked for New York Life Insurance for many years, retiring as a department manager. She was a devoted and active member of the Congregational Church of Brookfield. In past years, she also enjoyed attending the Brookfield Senior Center.

Patricia loved her home, tending to her gardens, and caring for her beloved pets, Rufus and Inky. She will be remembered for always wearing a smile and living up to her license plate "Happy Kid."

She will be sadly missed by her nephew, Bobby Reed. Some of her happiest times were spent when he visited her. She is survived by her biological brothers, William Reed and his wife, Mary, and David Reed; her sister, Dawn McLean and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her dear friend, Joan Meredith; many treasured friends from her church family; and many friends at New York Life including Mairead McGetrick, Lauretta Harwell and Bernadette Cucalon. She was predeceased by her close friends, Linda Ruh and Maryanne Gardner.

Funeral Services were held at the Congregational Church of Brookfield on Saturday, May 26. Interment followed in the Memorial Garden to follow. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Congregational Church of Brookfield; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; or Regional Hospice and Palliative care.
