Obituary: Willis "David" Riley, 86, of Brookfield

Mr. Riley taught taught 7th grade math for 21 years at the Somers Middle School and also at Ossining Elementary School for 11 years .

BROOKFIELD, CT — Mr. Willis "David" Riley, age 86, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday September 5, 2018. He was the loving husband of Louise A. (Heisholt) Riley.

Mr. Riley was born June 24, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Willis and Ruth (Bostrom) Riley. He was retired after working for many years in education, having taught 7th grade math for 21 years at the Somers, New York Middle School and also at Ossining Elementary School for 11 years and served as an Assistant Principal at the August Acorn Facility in New York City.

He enjoyed photography, model railroading, model airplanes, boating, was a licensed private pilot and was a member of the Model Railroading Club of Stamford. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family on their houseboat on the St. Lawrence River.

In addition to his wife Louise, Mr. Riley is survived by his daughters: Robin Riley of Scarsdale, NY, Elaine Sersun of Brookfield and Jessica Riley of Copenhagen, Denmark and his grandchildren: Christopher Sersun, Claire Sersun, Kai Meunier Riley and Leif Meunier Riley.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield on Saturday November 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield is in charge of arrangements.
