Paula A. Prince, age 86

August 04, 1925 — May 10, 2012

Paula A. Prince, age 86, beloved wife of the late Stephen X. Prince, of Brookfield, passed away on May 10, 2012 at Danbury Hospital. She was born on August 4, 1925 in Amesbury, MA, daughter of the late William Sweeney and Marion (Lyons) Mahler. She is predeceased by her sisters Ruth Frain and Marilyn Guildboard and brother William Sweeney.

She is survived by her three daughters, Paula White and her husband John of Maine, Stephanie Prince and her lifelong companion Doug Cowles and Michele Prince and her husband Mark Peterson, both of Brookfield; and her 10 loving grandchildren, Evangeline, Horatio, Gwendolyn, Jacqueline, Virgil, Gideon, Pearl, Violet White, Maximillan Prince and Jason Greene.

Mrs. Prince attended Stamford Schools and made her home in Brookfield for over 40 years. Devoted wife and mother, Paula was an avid reader, aspiring writer and had a thirst for knowledge, always curious, spending everyday in one way or another trying to learn something new. She loved to entertain, creating gourmet meals and beautiful floral arrangements for good friends and family. A nature lover, especially of birds, butterflies and dragonflies, Paula was an avid gardener. A woman of faith, her open mind led her to many practices and beliefs spiritually. Providing a place in her home and co-founding Sanctuary Angle Hawk that is run by her daughter Michele.

She spent several years working for Wentworth Laboratories as a Supervisor, Quality Circle Coordinator and lastly as their receptionist. Paula also worked for Western Connecticut State University. She was often and fondly referred to as "an amazing woman" and will missed by many.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the , 786 Federal Road, Rte 7, Brookfield, with a service to follow at 7 p.m. Graveside service will be held at Central Cemetery and at the request by Mrs. Prince, will be private. Donations may be made to Sanctuary Angel Hawk.
