Pedestrian Struck By Car, 2 Other Vehicles Crash Too In Brookfield, Fire Officials Say

The road was shutdown for about two hours.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A pedestrian was struck on Route 7 northbound at 7:51 p.m. on Friday, fire officials said.

Fire crews responded to Route 7 northbound prior to Exit 12 for a crash involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle.

Fire officials said they learned two vehicles were involved in a collision in the southbound lanes and then there was a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in the northbound lanes.

"Due to the complexity and extent of the scene, Stony Hill Fire Department was requested to assist with the closure of northbound Route 7, along with additional Brookfield EMS units being requested to the scene," fire officials said.

Southbound Route 7 was closed by Brookfield and Candlewood firefighters. Two people were taken to the hospital, one reporting serious injuries.

The road reopened at 9:30 p.m.
