A Pram by Any Other Name...

The Urban Archeologist shares his latest find and shows how you can find something too.

The question is: Was this a pram, buggy, push chair, stroller or something else?

So, how do you solve the problem of missed opportunities to ”dig” for discoveries when snow and ice threaten? Go shopping!

In the depths of winter I start to itch, not from the woolen sweaters, but from the lack of hunting grounds. The solution is travel to the stores of the friends I have met on the tag sale trail ( to start: Just-In Antiques in New Milford, and now, Attic Salvage in Brookfield) and scan their cluttered confines for an undiscovered story.

You can do it too. In the spirit of keeping it local, look around your town. I’ll bet there are at least 5 antique and thrift shops waiting to be discovered. These proprietors have been going to the same sales as I have (usually first) in order to keep their actual and “online” shelves full.

TIP! McGeorgies Antique shop is closing! 129 Main St South, Newtown. The contents are being liquidated now until February 21st.
