Public Hearing Thursday on 'The Renaissance' Apartment Complex in Brookfield
The proposed six-story complex is slated for Federal Road.

BROOKFIELD, CT - A public hearing is set for tonight, March 10, on "The Renaissance" apartment complex proposed for Federal Road in Brookfield.
The meeting could be the final chance the public can speak about the project to the Zoning Commission, because the hearings may be closed thereafter, reports the News-Times.
Some residents and officials object to the proposal, which calls for the construction of a six-story complex that would house more than 150 units. But it falls under the state's controversial 8-30g housing law, which allows certain developments to override local zoning laws if a portion of the units are earmarked as affordable.
