Public Meeting Planned for New Cell Phone Tower Proposal

Homeland Towers and Verizon Wireless are seeking to build a new tower behind the Brookfield Firehouse at 100 Pocono Lane.

Homeland Towers, LLV in partnership with Verizon Wireless, has filed a zoning application to build a new cell phone tower behind the firehouse at 100 Pocono Lane.

A public hearing has been set to hear concerns on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7pm in Meeting Room 133 of the Brookfield Town Hall. A public hearing was held on Jan. 6, 2014 for public comments on the proposed cell tower lease and residents voted to approve the option and lease agreement at a special town meeting on Feb. 3, 2014.

The new cell tower will be capable of supporting antennas of multiple wireless telecommunication providers, including the Town of Brookfield emergency service providers.
