Red Cross Encourages Donors To Give Blood In Spirit of Giving Season
The American Red Cross encourages people to 'give something that means something' by donating blood. Find a blood drive near Brookfield.

The American Red Cross encourages individuals to “give something that means something” by making a lifesaving blood donation or hosting a blood drive, according to a release.
Blood donations often decline from now to New Year’s Day when holiday festivities pull people away from their donation appointments. Seasonal illnesses, such as colds and the flu, can also have a serious impact on blood donations.
In addition, there are fewer blood drives hosted during winter months when many organizations postpone drives while people are traveling for the holidays. Severe winter weather may also cause impact scheduled blood drives.
Organizations can help keep the supply stocked by hosting a blood drive during the winter months. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative, A negative and AB blood.
