Remember When Things Used to Last Forever?

The Urban Archeologist travelled to Bethel for a garage and basement sale and found that lasting cold can be a good thing.

Things used to last forever it seems. Why was that? Was everything built better, of stronger materials, by better trained workers? It could be any or all of those reasons, and more. All I know is, it’s true.

If you go digging each weekend like I do, it only stands to reason that you’re going to find that the things that have managed to stand the test of time. Hand tools, containers, vessels, simple things that have few moving parts are treasured for their ability to keep on serving a purpose.
