Renowned Demonologists and Brookfield Resident Invite Public to 'A Night with Anabelle,' the Doll from 'The Conjuring'
The Warren's Occult Museum in Monroe plays host to "An Evening with Annabelle," the possessed doll from The Conjuring, on Saturday, June 11.
MONROE, CT — The New England Society for Psychic Research presents "An Evening with Annabelle" on Saturday, June 11 at 7 p.m. at The Warren's Occult Museum in Monroe, hosted by Lorraine Warren and Tony Spera.
Learn about, view and pose beside three of the infamous dolls including "Annabelle," the cursed doll that was the inspiration for 2014's American supernatural psychological horror film Annabelle directed by John R. Leonetti, produced by James Wan, and written by Gary Dauberman.
Lorraine Warren, a devout Roman Catholic, is a paranormal investigator and author who has researched and witnessed prominent cases of hauntings including the Amityville Horror. She and her late husband Ed claimed to have investigated over 10,000 hauntings during their career. Edward Warren passed away in August of 2006.

Along with her late husband, Lorraine is a self-taught, self-proclaimed expert demonologist. In 1952, the couple founded the New England Society for Psychic Research, located in Monroe, Conn. Mrs. Warren, 89, runs the Occult Museum in the back of her house in Monroe with the help of her son-in-law, Tony Spera.
According to the Warrens, Annabelle is believed to be responsible for the death of a young man who saw the doll at the Warren's Occult Museum and made the tragic mistake of mocking and challenging its ability to cause harm. Ed Warren kicked the young man out of the museum and three hours later, the man was dead, colliding head on into a tree while on his motorcycle.

Tony Spera and his mother-in-law Lorraine Warren currently give lectures on the occult and will introduce guests to "Mystical Items of the Occult" at their June event. Annabelle will be transported, unveiled, and shown to the general public, away from their usual, secure resting place in the Warren Occult museum.
Attendees can view "The Conjuring Mirror," a dangerous artifact used to perform conjuring rituals. These rituals are done in an effort to summon spirits to appear on the mirror's shiny surface through a form of "Crystallomancy or "Crystal gazing."
Guests can also view "The Shadow Doll," a dangerous object made up bird feathers, animal bones and a human tooth, is used as a vessel to inflict pain and suffering upon unsuspecting victims, the Warrens said in a release. The doll's sole purpose is to wreak havoc upon innocent human beings, according to the Warrens.
The Warrens say that attempting to communicate or summon spirits is the very real danger and should be avoided at all costs.
"The shadow doll can be made to come to you in your dreams and literally stop your heart— a very dangerous, evil object indeed," they said.
As Lorraine gets on in years, Brookfield resident Frank Chiafari works with Tony Spera lecturing and holding events and seminars. Frank worked with Ed on many cases until his death.
