Republican Harding Wins 107th House Seat in Special Election

The 107th district represents Bethel, Brookfield and Danbury.

Republican Stephen Harding Jr. defeated Democrat Howard Lasser in Tuesday’s special election for the 107th district representing Bethel, Brookfield and Danbury.

The seat was recently vacated by long time state representative David Scribner, who retired to become Commissioner, Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection.

According to the Brookfield GOP website, Harding received more than 200 votes than Lasser.

Harding, 27, is an attorney in Danbury and is serving his first term on the Brookfield Board of Education, the News Times reports. Harding said he would be an advocate for college graduates who can’t find jobs in Connecticut as well as for senior moving out of the state due to rising costs.
