Republicans Leave The Best Stuff Behind!

The Urban Archeologist is back with a unique piece of presidential memorabilia (*ahem*.. Republican Presidential Memorabilia)

When I am out looking for a piece of the past I don’t bring any bias into that attic or basement - just a flashlight.

Why do we keep what we keep and toss what we toss? That is the eternal question I ask each weekend. I have seen it all (almost) and am still amazed at what is out there waiting to be found. Sometimes I have to dig for it and sometimes it is right there waiting to be picked up.

In Darien, CT a week ago I came across a small exhibit that was displayed at a typical estate sale. Seeing that it was unique and thinking that it was priced that way, I passed it up. I eventually returned and asked about a price on one of the pieces - a program from 1953 Eisenhower inauguration.

When the dealer at the sale said, “$1” I returned with the other items and paid $5 for the lot.

Take a look at all the images in this historical exhibit provided to me courtesy of the Republican party by clicking here.

Other found Republican items on my site? A coffee mug from the 1972 Nixon campaign; A change purse with the familiar GOP elephant; A can of Goldwater soda. Come on Democrats! Help me balance the ticket at my next “dig.”
