Drivers should plan ahead for weeks of overnight road work.
BROOKFIELD, CT — Motorists traveling through Brookfield should expect overnight lane closures on Route 202 beginning July 6 as the Connecticut Department of Transportation starts a monthlong milling and resurfacing project.
The project will resurface a 3.22-mile stretch of Route 202 between Route 133 and U.S. 7. Milling is scheduled from July 6 through July 14, while paving is expected to take place July 19 through Aug. 5, weather permitting.
Work will be performed Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic control personnel will direct vehicles through the work zone. According to the town, construction will begin near the New Milford town line and move south toward the Route 133 intersection.
