State Trooper, Motorist Hospitalized After Accident in Brookfield: UPDATE

BREAKING: The accident was reported just before 8:30 a.m. Monday as the State Trooper was assisting a stranded motorist.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A state trooper from Troop A in Southbury had his cruiser struck from behind by another motor vehicle Monday morning as he was trying to help a stranded motorist, State Police said.

Both the state trooper and the driver of the vehicle that struck the cruiser were taken to a hospital for the evaluation of minor injuries, State Police said.

The accident occurred at 8:19 a.m. on Route 7 near Exit 12 in Brookfield. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
