Shelter Rock Winery Spring Celebration Benefitted Julia Wings Foundation

Danbury, Conn. The Shelter Rock Winery and Membership Club ushered in spring with wine, food, friends and music for members, friends and wine aficionados. The evening benefited The Julia’s Wings Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization that provides financial assistance to families of children with life threatening hematological diseases and to medical professionals for healthcare research. The JWFprovides financial support to these families to cover costs of travel, lodging, and other living expenses for qualified participants.

Julia Wing Foundation’s vice president Heather Malsin and board member Katherine Gold-Guber talked about the Foundation’s mission especially how it seeks to promote the advancement of research for Aplastic Anemia through contributions to organizations and individuals dedicated to this endeavor. Sales of T-shirts and jewelry designed by Anita Begley were donated to the foundation.

Food was provided complements of A&S Italian Fine Foods of Norwalk, Amore Ristorante of Sherman, Gallucci’s Catering of Danbury and Luigi’s Pizzeria of Yonkers, NY. “I would also like to thank Big Buddha for hosting a Cigar Tent, FrankieLove for providing amazing music and Sergio Marranzino for capturing the memories with his magic camera,” said Giovanni Petretta, Shelter Rock’s owner and wine master.
