Spike Bat Found During Brookfield Traffic Stop: State Police

Troopers also seized a knife during the traffic stop

BROOKFIELD, CT — State troopers say they found a spike bat and a knife during a traffic stop on Rte. 7 in Brookfield Saturday morning. Police say that they found the weapons in a motorcycle ridden by Domingos Reis, 49, of Danbury at 11 a.m. Troopers stopped Reis near exit 12 after he was seen traveling at a "high rate of speed," according to state police.

Troopers reported that once Reis saw state police cruisers, he slowed to approximately 35 miles per hour and would not pass the cruisers. To sign up for Brookfield breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Reis was charged with weapons in a motor vehicle and several motor vehicle infractions. He was released after posting $1,000 bond and is due in Danbury Superior Court on May 5.
