BROOKFIELD, CT — A fleeing suspect in a hit-and-run collision reckoned it was better to turn himself in than tangle with Tango, according to a police report.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Brookfield Police, Fire, and EMS crews were dispatched to a multi-vehicle crash with injuries on Whisconier Road/Route 25 in the area of White Pine Drive. First responding police units discovered four vehicles were involved in the incident, but were told the driver who was at fault had already fled on foot, police said.

While members of law enforcement worked to establish a perimeter, a witness reported seeing a man matching the fleeing suspect's description hiding in a nearby backyard.
