Burger place trending less pricey

Outside tables were full and downtown was teaming with people Sunday when a family member and I met at the latest new burger place for lunch.

We managed to claim quickly a newly vacated table and went to the counter to place our orders.

That's what you do in this Ridgefield establishment at 440 Main St. in CVS plaza.

Your food cooked to order is served to the table. Staff Sunday were cheery young people and patrons seemed in good spirits when we arrived around 1:30.

It was Mother's Day after all. The sun was out and the new http://ridgefieldlibrary.org/ library was celebrating its grand opening weekend.

My mood elevated quickly, mainly bolstered by the food I couldn't consume fast enough. I was pretty hungry.

My meal was an exquisitely ground salmon patty topped with gobs of cheddar cheese on a billowy bun. I added mayo and ketchup the way I like it.

I've been meaning since the weekend to post this so readers will know there's a trendy burger place in a lovely downtown setting but pretty inexpensive. You can eat a satisfying meal for less than 10 dollars.

If you go expect to consider "prime burgers" and "steak house" ones made of freshly ground  meat, turkey, veggie and the salmon burgers, and grilled chicken and chicken tenders as well.

My salmon patty was evenly seasoned, not too salty nor spicy and the ingredients were finely incorporated, nothing chewy or chunky, a perfectly textured match for a soft bun.

There are standard toppings like a variety of cheeses and bacon, and you can order salads and sides, sweet potato fries included.

There's also a 9-inch hot dog- my companion had one. I think it cost around $3.50 and he said it was delicious.

Afterwards one of the staff asked if we were the ones who ordered a strawberry shake. I said, 'Not us,' though boldly inquired if I could have it if there were no takers.

"Sure," she said, setting it on our table.

I immediately poured some of the drink into one of those small paper ketchup cups and drank it, then poured some more for myself, sharing the remainder, a creamy confection with mounds of vanilla ice cream.
