Thomas E. Hughes, formerly of Stamford and Brookfield, CT, died on Friday, March 23, 2012, at The Retreat at Brightwater in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born on March 5, 1917, he was the son of the late William and Ceridwen Hughes.
Hughes served in the US Army and was a World War II Veteran and a retiree from Machlett Laboratories in Springdale, CT.
He is survived by his children, Richard Hughes of North Myrtle Beach and Marjorie Slink of Myrtle Beach, SC, five grandchildren, Meghan, Jared, Erica Hughes, Kimberly Britto, Derek Slink and 3 great grandchildren, Tyler Hughes, Jacob and Joshua Britto.

A memorial service will be held at , Federal Road on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
