BROOKFIELD, CT — The town has provided an update regarding the planned paving of a road in Brookfield following questions from residents.

In a post Thursday on the Brookfield, CT Economic & Community Development Facebook page, town officials said residents often inquire when Federal Road will be repaved.

According to the post, the first selectman's office has been in contact with the Connecticut Department of Transportation about this since last year and has been informed the DOT plans to repave Federal Road "from Route 133 north to the end of Super 7" this spring.

If delayed for unforeseen reasons, the department has "committed to get it done before the end of the paving season in 2026," according to the town's post.

"Route 202 (a.k.a. Federal Road) is one of three state roads in town," town officials wrote on Facebook. "The others are Routes 25 and 133. These roads are owned and maintained by CT DOT, not the town. As such the town relies on them for this kind of work."
