The Urban Archeologist says, "All Aboard!" for this ride back in time to 70 years ago.

If you had a choice would you take a train to a vacation destination or drive?
Trains from the era of the cover image make me nostalgic for this kind of transportation, where possible by force of nature the land and the rails had to find a way to peacefully coexist. What you get is a scenic ride carved out of a mountainside, or running along a river.
While digging through a moving sale in a home from the 1940’s I came across this gem that was in untouched condition, right down to the order form stuck between the middle pages.

This large soft cover over-sized pamphlet shows images of places to be seen along the Feather River Route between San Francisco and Salt Lake City. What I want to know is, are these landmarks and vacation locations still around?
