Treat One of These Bottles with Kid Gloves
...or is it the other way around? The Urban Archeologist has a "find" to share.

When you see an old bottle, whether it’s buried half in the ground or piled in a basket with others like it, do you get the same urge as me? The urge to know how old it is? What it was used for? What did it look like in the store with a crisp label or a new sheen to the glass?
That‘s what these bottles did to me last weekend. At a sale that didn’t advertise antiques, I found these wrapped up in some newspaper. They look like old soldiers, battle worn, weary, used up, exhausted. Beautiful. For some reason they always look older than they really are, maybe it‘s wishful thinking.
How old do you think these are? What do you think they were used for? The “Cleanall” is self explanatory, and the directions on 2 of them are worth a good chuckle. Click here to read more and take a closer look. What can you tell me about them?
