BROOKFIELD, CT — Brookfield's two open houses this weekend are both in the Candlewood Shores community on Saturday: a lakefront ranch whose lawn runs to its own dock, and an updated ranch with Candlewood Lake views and access to the community's private beach and boat ramp.

Two Brookfield homes are holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 24, at $475,000 and $1,125,000, according to Zillow.com.

22 North Lake Shore Drive, noon to 3 p.m., $1,125,000. Directly on Candlewood Lake, this updated 1965 ranch sits on a rolling lawn that runs to the water's edge, with a private dock in a protected no-wake zone, according to the listing. Vaulted ceilings and walls of sliders face the lake, the living and dining area has a wood-burning fireplace, and the kitchen is fully renovated. The walk-out lower level has a great room with a stone fireplace, a bedroom and bath and a covered patio, plus a flex space with a glass garage door that could become a summer kitchen or bar. It's a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home with 1,999 square feet and an attached two-car garage.

Its price was cut by $10,000 on Oct. 20.

Make a weekend of it: start at the lakefront house on North Lake Shore Drive at noon, then head to Longview Drive, a few streets away in the same community, from 1 p.m.
