Victor Mineo, 80, of Brookfield, Passed Away

Mr. Mineo moved to Brookfield to be closer to his family and to fulfill his dream of living on Candlewood Lake.

Victor Mineo, 80, of Brookfield, Connecticut, beloved husband of Ann Mineo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family.

Born on January 31st, 1935 in New York City to the late Salvatore and Josephine Mineo, Victor was a resident of Mamaroneck and Pleasantville, New York, prior to moving to Brookfield to be closer to his family and to fulfill his dream of living on Candlewood Lake. Victor had a passion for boating and enjoyed the company of his friends and family during those beautiful summer days on the lake.

Victor graduated New York University in 1958 and pursued a sales career with Sears, Roebuck & Company. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; daughters, Josephine, and her partner, Elizabeth, and Victoria Cory, and her husband, Frank; grandchildren, Alexander and Rachel Cory; sister, Sarina Meyers, and her husband, Charles; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his brothers Michael and Sal Mineo.

The family [received] guests from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Friday, July 31st at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, New York, 10532. A mass [tok place] place at 1pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel, located in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York. Burial will then follow at Gate of Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations in Victor’s memory may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 30 Milestone Rd, Danbury, Connecticut, 06810.
