Softball (20-2, 14-2): The 2nd seeded Lady Bobcats advanced to the South-West Conference Semi-Final game by shutting out 7th seeded Pomperaug (8--9-1, 7-7) 1-0 at home on Tuesday. Brookfield pitcher Kayla Berardi pitched a perfect game and struck out nine batters in the win. Jessie Angelo scored the lone run of the game on a Felicia Lennon single in the fifth inning.
In a rematch of their last game of the season, a 2-1 win, Brookfield faced 3rd seeded Lauralton Hall (17-3, 15-3) in the Semi-Final game played at Frank DeLuca Hall Of Fame Field in Stratford, Ct. The Lady Bobcats came out on the wrong end of the results this time, being shutout 3-0. The Lady Crusaders hitters were able to fare better against Berardi the second time around and their pitcher Hayley Spragg kept the Brookfield offense off-balance all day with a nasty change-up. The loss ended Brookfield's quest for for a rematch with rival Newtown in the final and a SWC Championship.
Brookfield has earned a number two seed in the Class L State Tournament, which gives them a first round bye and a home game on Wednesday against the winner of the (15) East Haven vs (18) North Haven cross-town rival game.

Girls Lacrosse (14-4, 10-3): The 2nd seeded Lady Bobcats had no answers in their 17-9 SWC semi-final loss against 6th seeded New Fairfield (12-7, 7-6) on Tuesday. Playing in front of the home crowd at New Fairfield High School, the Lady Rebels raced out to a commanding 10-3 halftime lead in the runaway win. Backed by solid goaltending and a tough zone defense, New Fairfield was able to keep Brookfield's offensive attack in check. The usually solid Brookfield defense couldn't contain the high-speed attack of New Fairfield.
The Lady Bobcats have earned the 7th seed in the Division I State Tournament and a qualifying round bye. They will face the winner of the Norwich Free Academy (11-4, 11-2)/South Windsor (6-7-2, 5-3-1) game on Thursday at home. A first round win would set up a quarterfinal round rematch with 3rd seed Daniel Hand (17-2, 6-0), who soundly defeated Brookfield earlier in the year.

Boys Lacrosse (11-6, 8-4): The Bobcats just made it in to the top half of the Class M State Tournament, earning the 8th seed. They will play at home on Thursday in the first round against 9th seed Avon (9-7, 5-4). A win would set them up for a road game against SWC rival and champion, top seeded New Fairfield (17-2, 13-1).
Boy's Track & Field: Brookfield finished 3rd in the SWC Championship Track & Field meet held at Weston High School on Tuesday. They came in just a half-point behind 2nd place Weston with a score of 93.5. New Milford was crowned champions with a score of 105.
Kirk Gardner placed 2nd with a time of 16.08 in the 110 hurdles.
Leaon Gordon placed 3rd with a time of 23.55 in the 200
Christopher Ackell placed 1st with a throw of 144-6 in Discus.
Ackell placed 2nd with a throw of 165-11 in Javelin.
Ackell placed 3rd with a throw of 47-1 in Shot Put.
Jack Gernert tied for 1st with a jump of 6-2 in the High Jump
Jordan Burandt placed 1st with a vault of 13-8 in Pole Vault.
Gardner placed 3rd with a vault of 12-0 in Pole Vault.
Girls Track & Field: Brookfield placed 6th with a score of 42.7 in the SWC Championship Track & Field meet held at Pomperaug High School on Monday. Weston won the trophy with a score of 97.2.
Rose Wiley placed 3rd with a time of 5:06.18 in the 1600.
Aileen Tobin placed 3rd with a time of 2:23.41 in the 800
Claudia Bartoli placed 1st with a throw of 120-6 in Javelin.
Bartoli placed 1st with a throw of 106-4 in Discus.
The Boys and Girls will both be competing in the Class MM State Track & Field meet Tuesday to be held at Veterans Stadium in Willowbrook Park , New Britian.
