This weekend’s milder weather capped off a nearly picture perfect New England weekend for leaf peeping and other fall activities, despite Sunday morning’s rain.

The National Weather Service predicts that a cold front will move in Sunday evening, causing temperatures to be slightly below average this week. There will be sunny skies on Monday and Tuesday before a 90 percent chance of rain moves on on Wednesday.

• Monday: Sunny, with a high near 54. North wind 6 to 8 mph. Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 33. Calm wind.
• Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 55. Light southeast wind. Tuesday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 39. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph after midnight.
• Wednesday: Rain, mainly after 10 a.m. High near 60. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Wednesday Night: Rain before 10 p.m., then showers after 10 p.m. Low around 53. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
• Thursday: A chance of showers before 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 41.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35.
