WMS Collection for the Troops

Whisconier Middle School Collection For The Troops

Brookfield, CT- 26 care packages were recently sent to troops serving abroad, thanks to the efforts of students, staff, and families of Whisconier Middle School in Brookfield. Under the advisement of Peer Leadership advisors, Emily Kupper and Shannon Leitch, and World Language teacher, Giorgia Stabile, the Peer Leadership group spearheaded a collection of supplies ranging from playing cards, beef jerky, and shampoo to Ensure, toothbrushes, and lotion. Included in each box were letters and cards from WMS students. The soldiers have been receiving these packages, and they are extremely grateful. A special thanks goes out to the Brookfield VFW, Bethel Police Department, and Hawleyville Post Office for their generous assistance with this effort.
