2 Canton High Students Win Merit Scholarships

Congratulations to these two local students.

CANTON, CT — Two Canton High School students earned college-sponsored National Merit Scholarships. More than 3,500 students from across the country were awarded with awards ranging from $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years.

In total more than $31 million is awarded in National Merit Scholarships through college-sponsored programs and other awards.

Colton Glasgow was awarded a scholarship from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Glasgow plans to study astronomy.

Helena Winkler won the National Merit University of Rochester scholarship. She plans to study bioinformatics.
