CT has a vigorous, focused team of professionals in the Hartford HQ office of AARP.

CT has a vigorous, focused team of professionals in the Hartford HQ office of AARP. Headed by Nora Duncan, State Director for AARP, Ms. Duncan provides highly visible strategic leadership to an over-achieving office with 7 full-time staff and nearly 200 volunteers, including a 6-member Executive Council.
Susan Regan, Host of CT Valley Views recently interviewed John Erlingheuser, Associate State Director for Advocacy who along with the rest of the industrious AARP staff members maintains a constant laser focus on local community education, outreach, impactful state and federal advocacy, multicultural engagement, mutually beneficial organizational relationships all while developing meaningful and diverse offerings for the age 50+ in CT.
Mr. Erlingheuser, provides an up-to-the-minute status on current objectives presented to our state's legislature. They include Bill 5591 "Work and Save", Bill 221 for "Paid Family Leave", special "Alzheimer's Respite Care" and "Uniform Power of Attorney" which are all programs designed to assist our seniors, protect the caregivers, assure "quality of life" retirement programs, while sustaining CT's goal to reduce Medicaid costs/budget impacts and tax increases.
