CANTON, CT — Local volunteers are being called to assist with a community cleanup along the Farmington River Trail in Canton on Saturday, April 25, from 9 to 11 a.m.
The effort is organized by the Farmington Valley Trails Council and BikeWalkCantonCT, two groups focused on maintaining and promoting the region’s trail systems.
Participants are asked to meet behind the Canton Public Works Garage at 50 River Road.
Organizers said the event is open to all and does not require advance registration, though volunteers are encouraged to confirm attendance by email or arrive the day of the cleanup.
A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, April 26, if weather conditions prevent the event from taking place as planned.
The cleanup is part of ongoing local efforts to maintain the Farmington River Trail for public use, with organizers emphasizing the importance of community involvement in preserving the area’s recreational resources.
