• Canton's Budget Battle/Tax Situation: What Happens Next? (patch.com) — Canton officials have trimmed more than $1.3 million from the proposed 2026-27 town and school budget after voters rejected the original plan, reducing the overall increase and projected tax hike. Residents will now decide on the revised $53.8 million spending package, with a lower mill rate and smaller tax impact, at a second referendum on Tuesday, June 2 at the Canton Community Center.    

• Grant Funds Give Canton Firefighters Major Boost (patch.com) — Canton’s Fire and EMS Department has secured a grant from the Canton Community Health Fund to buy new safety and rescue equipment, including a Pack Tracker system, ventilation saw, and water rescue ropes. These upgrades are designed to improve firefighter accountability, river rescues on the Farmington River, and overall emergency response for residents and visitors.
