CANTON, CT — A prominent shopping destination in the Farmington Valley region will soon offer expanded dining options with four new eateries on the horizon this year and next.
The Shops at Farmington Valley, located off Route 44 in Canton, has signed Mediterranean restaurant chain CAVA as its newest dining tenant, with the restaurant expected to open in 2027, shopping center officials announced Monday.
The addition comes as the Canton retail center prepares to welcome three other restaurants this year: Shake Shack, Ramen + Bao and Wonder.
According to management, the new tenants are part of an ongoing effort to expand the center's dining offerings and position The Shops as a regional destination for food, shopping and entertainment.
"What's being built at The Shops at Farmington Valley is very much a reflection of the community around us, one that has evolved in meaningful ways," said Elizabeth Ackerman, general manager of The Shops at Farmington Valley. "The Farmington Valley has seen a remarkable surge in new homeowners and rising residential values, and the energy that brings is palpable."
Ackerman said the arrivals of FP Movement, Warby Parker and Blo Blow Dry Bar in 2025 helped attract additional interest from national retailers and restaurant brands.
"The arrival of FP Movement, Warby Parker, and Blo Blow Dry Bar last year set a new tone for what this property represents, and the response has been remarkable," Ackerman said. "Welcoming Shake Shack, Wonder, and Ramen & Bao this year, alongside the signing of CAVA for 2027, speaks to the caliber of guest we've cultivated here and the confidence these brands have in this market."
Shake Shack is expected to open in July 2026, marking the chain's first location in the Farmington Valley.
The restaurant is known for its burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, frozen custard, fries and beverages.
Ramen + Bao will open its third Connecticut location at the shopping center. The restaurant specializes in ramen, bao buns and Asian-inspired small plates.
Wonder, a food hall-style concept that allows customers to order menu items from multiple restaurant brands in a single transaction, is also scheduled to open this year.
CAVA, which has expanded rapidly across the United States, offers customizable Mediterranean bowls, salads, pitas and other menu items centered on fresh ingredients and bold flavors.
Center officials said the new additions continue a broader transformation of The Shops at Farmington Valley into a destination for dining and community gathering in the region.
